Recorded between 1971 and 1973, and finally issued in 1974, this was the first full blown collaboration between Jon Lord and Tony Ashton. Aiming to recreate a sort of big band feel, they used up to 15 musicians in the studio at any one time, including Roy Dyke, Mick Grabham, Jim Sullivan, Peter Frampton, Ron Wood, Cozy Powell and Ian Paice. Lord and Ashton face-off on piano and Hammond organ throughout. In some ways a dry run for the PAL album three years later, it has never been issued on CD in the UK before. Remastered and with bonus tracks. Initial limited edition in digi-pak. More details + mp3 sound clips |
